Der Autor dieser Studie greift diese gesellschaftliche Tendenz auf und untersucht anhand einer Reihe von literarischen Texten von sogenannten ""Skandalautoren"" (Michel Houellebecq, Will Self und Tiziano Scarpa) wie die Literatur der Postmoderne Männlichkeit als Negativum konstruiert und in den Mittelpunkt ihrer provokanten Schockästhetik stellt. Dabei zeigt sich, dass das Bild einer rein negativen Männlichkeit vorrangig benutzt wird, um eine radikale Kritik an den gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen der letzten Jahrzehnte zu üben.
