Ausdrücklich geht es dabei um die Frage nach der Souveränität der repräsentierten Fürsten als Kriterium für das Zeremoniell. Der hier präsentierte Text greift das 1488 von Agostino Patrizi vollendete Ceremoniale Romanae Curiae auf, über Jahrhunderte hat er das Botschafterprotokoll der Kurie normiert.
