Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht - unter Einbeziehung persönlicher Fähigkeiten und Eigenschaften der Versuchspersonen - das Marktverhalten experimentell. In dem Marktexperiment fanden bilaterale Verhandlungen um ein homogenes Gut statt. Die Kapazitäten der Marktteilnehmer konnten durch Investitionen verändert werden. Der zur Investition führende Entscheidungsprozeß konnte mit Hilfe eines mehrstufigen Modells, das den Regeln des eingeschränkt rationalen Verhaltens entspricht, abgebildet werden.
