Der Eschaton als Anbruch der ewigen Gottesherrschaft war eine zentrale fruhchristliche Vorstellung, allerdings hat auch die Erwartung, im Eschaton mitherrschen zu durfen, verschiedene Gruppen des Urchristentums beschaftigt. Umstritten war, wem die eschatologische Mitherrschaft zukommen wurde und ob man sie sich verdienen konne. Die Erwartung eschatologischer Machtausubung spiegelt also ein Stuck urchristlicher (Problem-)Geschichte, die in der vorliegenden Untersuchung erstmals im Zusammenhang anhand von neutestamentlichen und apokryphischen Texten des 1. und 2. Jahrhunderts n.Chr. nachgezeichnet wird.
