Der Autor präsentiert einen Beitrag zur neutestamentlichen Evangelienliteratur. Er untersucht in seiner literarischen und traditionsgeschichtlichen Analyse Lk 8-21 als integralen Teil des lukanischen Doppelwerkes. Seit Schleiermacher ist für die Erforschung des dritten Evangeliums die Hypothese eines mit Lk 9,51 beginnenden und über etwa zehn Kapitel sich erstreckenden ""Reiseberichts"" bzw. einer entsprechenden ""central section"" (so im angelsächsischen Sprachraum) leitend. Der Autor zeigt, dass diese Hypothese unlukanisch ist. Dadurch eröffnet sich ein neuer Zugang zum lukanischen Gesamtentwurf. Teil der Textanalyse ist u.a. ein Vergleich mit den narrativen Techniken der antiken Bios-Literatur.
