This volume aims to explain the transfer of molecular data of biotransformation to its application in molecular medicine. Topics covered range from the isolation and transfer of genes into other species as models for studying the molecular origin of certain diseases to the investigation of the molecular mechanism of induction by analyzing the regulation of genes the proteins of which control the metabolism of drugs and their elimination. The knowledge of these processes is of extreme importance for a medicinal application.
