| book description |
Metal Plasticity: Experimental Characterization and Constitutive Modeling outlines the fundamentals of plastic deformation of metals, related constitutive modeling techniques, and how best to apply these modeling techniques. The book summarizes the plastic behaviors of metals based on experimental observations while also reviewing related constitutive models used to determine their plastic deformation, including isotropic yield functions, anisotropic yield functions, asymmetric yield functions, anisotropic hardening yield functions, and more. It demonstrates the yield surfaces of functions under 2D plane stress, 3D plane stress with shear stress effect, and 3D triaxial loading, amongst others. The development of different plasticity models, including their form, parameters, calibration, accuracy, advantages, and disadvantages are outlined as well, and the book also summarizes and compares various models, emphasizing their costs and user-friendliness, thus allowing readers to select the model that best meets their needs.
