| book description |

Spotlight on Fact CD-ROM 4 provides a range of ICT programs which are designed to link literacy hour with ICT. It includes the ICT text 'Wild Cards', an electronic Big Book, electronic Writing Frames and a print-and-read Teacher's Resource Book. Spotlight on Fact's CD-ROM 4 components comprise the following: / ICT Text 'Wild Cards' offers a simulated 'greetings card' website in which children visit wild places around the world and then write, design and send a card about their experience. Children navigate text, maps, photos, video, animation and noises about the wild places in order to research their cards. / E-Big Book 4 provides all eight Year 4 Core Texts so they can be viewed on a whiteboard, screen or monitor. It includes an interactive control panel which allows text, sentence and word highlighting to aid whole-class teaching. / The Electronic Writing Frames provide eight interactive writing frames (each covering a different non-fiction text type), which can be used for shared teaching and for group and individual activities. / A print-and-read Teacher's Resource Book is provided which includes lesson plans, rationale, curriculum links and full ICT and NLS objectives. / Three photocopiable activity masters can be downloaded to support work with 'Volcanoes'. / The CD-ROM comes with a full-colour 32-page booklet (which is also downloadable) with instructions and guidance.
